Pete Holmes had a late night talk show on TBS for two seasons. I don't think it did well because no one knew who the fuck Pete Holmes was. I don't follow his career religiously but I used to tune into the show sometimes and always liked him. He's got a real genuine nice guy feel to him. Maybe it's cause he just looks so soft and homely or maybe it's because he's actually a genuine nice guy.
The new show is all about up and coming comics doing shows for tiny crowds and sleeping on each others couches. Pete's character is divorced and moving from couch to couch. It's got some good low level names attached to it. Artie Lange, Sarah Silverman, TJ Miller and Hannibal Buress. I doubt they are in the whole show, so maybe the format will be each episode he is on another comedians couch and those bigger names will be the guest stars.
It premiers on February 19th. Here is a little video of the comedians involved talking about the show.
P.S. There is a British show called Crashing that came out last year that I liked. Written by the same girl who wrote and starred in Fleabag.
