Without further ado, I am glad to announce that Miracle is my new falling asleep movie. Sorry Seabiscuit, you had a great run but it's time to move on.
The way my dumb brain works is it thinks too much. It thinks non stop. It thinks about the future. It thinks about the past. It thinks about the situations that will never arrive. If I am left alone with my own thoughts it's like a treadmill on high. I need resistance. I need a distraction to slow it down. Having to fall asleep with no distraction is a death sentence. I just lay there with my eyes pinned open thinking about what I would do if someone barged into the room with a gun. Or what my response would be if I walked into work tomorrow and got fired. Or what my reaction would be to any other situation that will surely never come into play. It's horrible.
My number one falling asleep movie in history is Good Will Hunting. It's my favorite movie. I know every scene by heart. There are no loud action scenes and the soundtrack is made up of perfect falling asleep music (Elliot Smith). I then moved onto Seabiscuit because it is also a favorite movie of mine. Seabiscuit is criminally underrated and one day I will write a detailed blog about how great that film is. Eventually I had watched Seabiscuit all the way through multiple times so I needed to audible again.
In came Miracle. A great movie. I have used it the past three nights and I haven't gotten to the Olympic games yet. I'm hoping they aren't too loud. Herb Brooks is a genius though! The acting of the players is worse than I remember but everything else is awesome. Can't wait to see them play against the Russians!
I like the Yankees, watching TV shows and talking about stuff.
