I don’t feel like writing since this is spring break week but I figure I have to tell about the wedding.
The four of us arrived at six thirty. The invitation said it started at six. When we walked into the Tahj Mahal Party Hall in Jamaica, Queens the place was completely empty, nothing but tables and empty chairs. A.G. forgot to mention that Bengali tradition is to show up two to two and a half hours late. The four of us sat at a table in the back for two hours before the second set of guests arrived. The good part was we were first in line for appetizers, which were surprisingly really good. A.G. did not arrive until ten o’clock. When he came they started doing some ceremonies but everything was in Hindi. We were very confused the whole time. Ken and I said hi to A.G. after he was introduced and he was sitting on his ‘throne’ at the head of the room. At then thirty his wife was introduced. We realized how late it was and left. They hadn’t even served dinner yet. It was an interesting experience.
I guess I really didn't feel like writing because that wedding was a wild event and I barely talked about it. My boss from domino's invited me to his wedding. I invited a girl to come with me as a first date. We drove from New Britain, Ct to Queens for it.
When he came they started doing some ceremonies but everything was in Hindi.
That's a very simplistic retelling. When AG arrived he was dressed like Ali Ababwa, he looked dapper as fuck. He tried to walk in the door but every male member of his fiances family blocked him from entering. They started screaming and yelling in Hindi. It sounded like a real fight. They made AG pay money to enter his own wedding. Then they said that wasn't enough and made him hand over his shoes. Eventually AG and his brothers stormed through the door like Vikings and ran over everyone blocking the way. This is a Bangladesh tradition. We didn't know this. It seemed very much like an actual fight.
I still remember the appetizers. The servers opened them up early for us because we were there for two hours by ourselves. They were delicious.
I like the Yankees, watching TV shows and talking about stuff.
