My girlfriend and I were leaving the office the other day. My office is in an industrial complex. The roads are basically empty. Side streets with no stop lights or major traffic. I was making an unprotected left and waiting for a car to pass so I had an opening. Just as I took my foot off the break and started turning the wheel we heard tires screaming. I thought it was my front tires squealing like they do when you turn in a parking garage. It wasn't. Boom! A car crashed right into my back bumper.
I made eye contact with the driver. He was sitting in his volvo. I doubt it was in good condition prior but it was beat up quite badly now. The headlight was shattered. The hood was bent. I pulled over to the curb and looked at the guy again. He did exactly what I thought he was about to do and took off.
My car didn't get hurt at all really. My bumper is scratched up and has some blue paint on it. If I wasn't lazy, or if I cared I could buff it all out. Because I didn't have my foot on the break we didn't get whipped around. It didn't even really feel like we got hit.
My new shower has glass doors. This means I get to squeegee them after every shower. I have come to thoroughly enjoy this part of my day. It's one of those oddly satisfying tasks. It takes thirty seconds but feels fulfilling. It's nothing new for me, I have always like shoveling snow or raking leaves. Uncovering the driveway or fresh grass underneath in a systematic pattern gives me joy. Maybe that's weird. Maybe some of you feel the same way.
The AppleTV remote tis the worst part of my day to day life right now. I don't understand why the supposed geniuses at apple thing a tiny little sliver without buttons is the ideal remote. It fucking sucks. When it's dark I can never tell which side is the top and which is the bottom. Then as I'm feeling around to figure that out my hand slides along the touchpad and it fast forwards or rewinds my show. It's amazingly frustrating. I don't understand what they have against buttons. Give me a dpad and an enter button and quit being assholes.
