Just Talkin' | Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon
On this weeks episode of Just Talkin' I sat down with Kaity to talk about the week that was and we dove into the Badder-Meinhof Phenomonem, aka Frequency Bias.
If you're not sure what this is it is when you learn or see something new and then go on to hear or see it everywhere. Your brain can't comprehend the crazy odds of that happening. It feels like it must mean much more than it does. As humans, we tend to give coincidences A LOT more meaning.
One of the biggest examples of this happening to me was when my grandma got a soft coated wheaten terrier. In the next couple months I went on to see soft coated wheaten terriers being walked on every sidewalk I drove past. Crazy. What are the odds? Are soft coated wheaten terriers the new fad? Did everyone see my Grandma's dog in this town and decide to get one of there own? Did my Grandma copy the trend? Have these dogs been on the sidewalk my whole life and I'm just noticing them because I know the name of the breed now? What the hell is going on out here!?!?
I also talk about how Steve Irwin and his family made me cry. I won't even get into all of that right now. I'll just say this... what a beautiful family.
I like the Yankees, watching TV shows and talking about stuff.
