In the past science fiction has never really been my thing but I've come around to it more in the last couple years. I was excited to see this movie. It's got Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt both looking the best they've ever looked. It's got a unique story line and before watching it I had no idea which way the plot would go. All I knew was they were going to another planet and they woke up early. I didn't know Christ Pratt's character woke her up on purpose.
I've read other reviews and it seems that most of the general public deems what Jim did unforgivable. I have to agree with them. Stockholm syndrome exists and maybe that's what happened to Aurora when she forgave him. That and if he died she would be as lonely as he was. So I can kind of see her wanting him to live. Maybe. But a lot more needed to happen between her waking him up with punchess to her screaming 'don't leave me' through tears.
Here are some jumbled thoughts about the whole movie....
My final grade isn't great. Maybe a 5.8 out of 10. Six would be the highest I'd give it. The first two acts are awfully slow. Then when she finds out he woke her up on purpose the movie should get really interesting and good but it doesn't. It gets cliche and dumb. He becomes the hero. She becomes the brainwashed damsel in distress. They live happily ever after together and ruin the ship for the passengers that wake at the right time.
I like the Yankees, watching TV shows and talking about stuff.
