MIRROR - A salon is being berated for allegedly putting up a sign that said "overweight" customers would have to pay more for a pedicure.
Okay, well time for me to be mean, I guess. I see how this is wrong. I see how it's going to get fat people mad. A gang of social justice warriors are going to flood this places yelp reviews. Here's why I don't think it matters. Look at Rose NAILS. Look at the outlet mall it is in. That is a building that doesn't care about yelp reviews. What they do care about is having to touch fat peoples feet. In Dyersburg, Tennessee (9th in obesity) that's probably a day to day occurrence. A particularly fat person probably came in, dropped themselves into the chair and stuck out their fat and neglected feet. I'm only a little fat but I am full time lazy and I have not washed my feet in years. If the soapy water I'm standing in doesn't clean them then my feet aren't being cleaned. Also, I get out of breath when tying my skates before a hockey game. Imagine an obese persons feet cleaning their feet in the shower. Can't do it. Doesn't happen.
I also never understood why XXL shirts are the same price as L shirts. More fabric. More shelf space. It just seems logical that they would cost more. It's the same situation here. More surface area = more time = more money. I feel like pedicures should also cost more if your feet are gross. If you walk in with muddy soles and dirt under the toe nails then you should have to pay more. That's not how the world actually works but I'm not sure why.
I'm all for making fat people try to be less fat. I think that's a noble cause. Last December I was the heaviest I've ever been. I didn't know it until I stepped on a scale at my parents house. Over the course of three months prior I drank a million IPA's and I often got a donut with my morning coffee. If someone was to shame me while that was happening it would have been great. Instead I had to figure it out myself. Shame myself. Now i've been off beer and donuts for a couple months and down twenty pounds. Fat shaming works. If I was a fat person in Dyersburg, TN and I was getting charged extra to have my toes cleaned I would 100 percent decide that maybe it was time to lose some weight.
I like the Yankees, watching TV shows and talking about stuff.
